It's a Small World After All!

Today Disney Interactive announced the release of a new animated series for "It’s A Small World” and credits Powerhouse Animation Studios!  I am so proud to be doing work on this project.  I've been having a blast doing lip sync, animation, clean up, and post production along with the rest of the PHA team.  Other people working on this awesome project include Kellan Stover, Megan Kluck, and Adam Conarroe, and a whole bunch of other awesome animators and visual effects artists.  Keep an eye out for the soon to be released episodes.

TEDEd- Why does ice float in water?

Powerhouse Animation teamed up with TedEd to bring to life three awesome and educational concepts. In this third piece my role was post production as well as sound effect and animation edits. My favorite section was the representation of the complexities of the molecular structure of ice (2:32), which I accomplished by using a camera in After Effect to fly through multiple swf layers of bonded hydrogen atoms.  The word transitions were simple but fun, done with an AE script we frequently use here at Powerhouse Animation.  Overall it was a very fulfilling project.  All of us here at the studio enjoyed working on these TedEd pieces. Mmmmm, Ice tea!

TEDEd- Four ways to understand the Earth's age

I had the pleasure of doing the After Effects work on this piece.  I also animated the scene where the female scientist files her nails.  Mmmm, look at that fancy TV!

TED ED - Higgs Field, explained

I love Ted Talks!  I find them utterly fascinating.  Getting the chance to animate and do post production on three segments for the new project TedEd has been very exciting.  In this piece our team explains the Higgs Boson and Higgs field.  I animated two characters in the crowd scenes, including the dude straightening his tiny tie, and some circles and rope!  I was also the vfx artist on this piece, working in After Effects to create fireworks, Nobel prize fairy dust, and a few transitions here and there.  Enjoy!

ESPN Pod-casts with Bill Simmons

Bill Simmons and David Jacoby imagine a reality show in which Joe House would cater last meals for death row inmates. Oh yeah, one more thing: If the prisoner can out-eat Joe House, he gets a pardon. Eat your way to freedom!

ESPN Pod-casts with Bill Simmons

Bill Simmons and Jeff Ross

When Jeff Ross was on 'Dancing With The Stars,' his "friend" Cousin Sal pranked him by texting Jeff that he was safe from that night's elimination). When Jeff got voted off (to Sal's delight), their ensuing feud could only be resolved by non other then Tom Cruise. True Story!

Spoilers with Kevin Smith: Dick Van Dyke

Powerhouse Animation was recently asked to create several animated shorts for Kevin Smith's smodcasts. We've had a lot of fun working on these over the past few months. Now that they've been released I wanted to show off my (and my fellow Powerhousians') work.

In this "Dick Van Dyke" edition of the show I was in charge of VFX and post production. I got to make some interesting cartoon water and move some clouds about.

This 4th of July Powerhouse Animation teamed up with Sparky the fire safety dog to bring you this awesome E-card.  The Red Unit staff worked hard to animate this funny bunny card, including character animation, special effects, and sound effects, by yours truly.

Spoilers with Kevin Smith: Rick Springfield

Powerhouse Animation was recently asked to create several animated shorts for Kevin Smith's smodcasts. We've had a lot of fun working on these over the past few months. Now that they've been released I wanted to show off my (and my fellow Powerhousians') work.

In this "Rick Springfield" edition of the show I was in charge of VFX and post production. In two of the driving scenes I got to tackle the dreaded perspective looping background. I also threw in some some flashing cop lights and Rick's drunk bubbles. Gotta love Trapcode's Particular, I think it's my favorite part of AE. Thanks for watching.
