Mary Brown's Birthday Mug

Today our best bud, and Powerhouse co-worker, Mary Brown turns 32!  To celebrate this super awesome day Bridgette and I got Mary a gift that combines her three favorite things; coffee, zombies, and us!  It seemed to be a success as she began to use it for her caffeinated beverage right away.

So this is the image I drew for the mug.  I left for New York so Bridgette added a little more blood and then sent it on to be printed in time for Mary's special day.

TEDEd- Why does ice float in water?

Powerhouse Animation teamed up with TedEd to bring to life three awesome and educational concepts. In this third piece my role was post production as well as sound effect and animation edits. My favorite section was the representation of the complexities of the molecular structure of ice (2:32), which I accomplished by using a camera in After Effect to fly through multiple swf layers of bonded hydrogen atoms.  The word transitions were simple but fun, done with an AE script we frequently use here at Powerhouse Animation.  Overall it was a very fulfilling project.  All of us here at the studio enjoyed working on these TedEd pieces. Mmmmm, Ice tea!
